    Leadership and Community Involvement

While in the Boulder Valley School District, Peggy supervised school health clerks. She also worked closely with families whose children needed extra support, helping them navigate the educational system, and helping staff see and address the unique needs of each child.

As a women’s ministry leader for five years, Peggy taught, organized volunteers, arranged special programming, and coordinated events.

For the last five years, Peggy has been facilitated classes on the rights and responsibilities of citizens, and taught facets of the United States Constitution.

Since September 2024, Peggy has attended Leadership St. Vrain. “Leadership St. Vrain is a program designed to provide parents and other community members the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of our district’s mission, operations and strategic priorities. The program is especially beneficial for those who want to obtain a foundation in district operations and governance and become more active participants in St. Vrain Valley Schools” (SVVSD website, “Leadership St. Vrain,” accessed 3/4/25).

Lifelong Passion for Children & Education

Peggy loves children and delights in all facets of their unique, individual growth and development from pre-born to adulthood. Since childhood, Peggy’s character has been marked by an ability to share wisdom and knowledge in order to help others capitalize on their strengths and live up to their potential.

When typical instructional methods were not meeting the educational needs of her children, she diligently pursued resources that helped them thrive educationally and become successful adults; one is now a curriculum and assessment director, one is a trainer and leader of fire fighters, and one is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

In Peggy’s experience as a professional educator, she taught three levels of middle school science as well as high school English and Old Testament Survey. She sought solutions and advocated for students who needed creative instructional approaches.

Vision for the Future of SVVSD Students

Schools exist to partner with families in nurturing and educating children of all backgrounds and abilities, providing a safe, predictably consistent environment where kids can explore interests, develop their talents, be challenged to reach for their best, and enjoy being learners where their innocence is appropriately protected.

Schools must be welcoming environments for a child’s parents and family, helping them be informed and engaged as the most vital influencers in a child’s education and well-being. Respecting and involving parents through informative, transparent, two-way communication brings unity to the parent-student-school team.

Strong families make strong communities. Strong communities build strong schools. Strong schools affect our future.

Peggy will advocate for all children of SVVSD just as she championed the education of her own children. She will stand for children and families.
